About the Tour

CLUCK is the shortened name for the Las Vegas Valley Urban Chicken Keepers Coop Tour and it will happen April 3, 2010.

People all over our valley have discovered the joys of fresh eggs and chickens as pets. It is rumored that some of the places chickens are dwelling are apartment balconies, a bathtub in a extra bathroom, as well as in small and large coops in backyards and on patios and porches.

Keeping chickens has become the new rage across the nation and the kids are getting into the act, too. They are learning how to take care of their feathered pet and collecting the eggs for breakfast or to add to their favorite cookie recipe. Urban dwellers are discovering that chickens are a useful pet.

The CLUCK Tour is a self-guided tour - you can go at your own pace. You can view the coops in your part of town or travel to the 4 corners of our valley.

Coop owners will share information on the breeds of chickens they raise and why this particular breed. See the various styles of coops and get tips on how to build yours or how to find a handyman to build one for you.  You may even be able to purchase fresh eggs from them or a chicken or two.

Email: CLUCK@cox.net if you are interested in finding out how to participate in this tour as a coop owner, a sponsor, or want to go on the tour.
